Is a compression pump right for me?

Intermittent pneumatic compression may be useful for conditions that require improved circulation or the removal of lymph fluid build-up (or oedema) from the limbs or trunk. Speak to your lymphoedema therapist, wound care nurse, GP or vascular surgeon for their opinion. The Biocompression pump can be used in the comfort of the home yielding great results with 30 min-1 hour sessions once or twice a day.

Features / Benefits

Regular home management of oedema using SIPC can be more cost effective long term than one-on-one therapy sessions. We also offer a Rent Try Buy scheme*. If you decide to purchase your machine, we will refund up to three months of paid rental off the purchase price. Medi-Rent offers limb garments in the price of the rental, unlike some competitors who charge fees to purchase garments on top of the cost of the pump. Pneumatic compression therapy is easy and comfortable. If you find compression stockings hot or difficult to put on, a compression pump might be the answer. The Biocompression BioPant system offers the following features:

  • Directional flow, sequential compression, non-peristaltic
  • 8-level gradient pressure
  • Variable pressure 20-120mmHg – TO BE SELECTED BY YOUR HEALTH PROFESSIONAL
  • Five cycle times to suit your condition
  • Focus mode to target your treatment to a particular part of the limb
  • BioPants provide compression of buttocks, abdomen, upper thigh and legs
  • Three standard sizes that are available in our Rent-Try-Buy scheme
  • Custom sizing to fit your unique body shape and provide best coverage and compression – for purchase only
  • Easy to put on with two front zippers and pull-on straps

*This offer is only for standard size garments

How does SIPC work?

Intermittent pneumatic compression mimics the body’s manual lymphatic drainage. By applying pressure to the surface of the limb it promotes the circulation of blood/fluid throughout the body. In the classic mode, each chamber inflates and deflates sequentially starting from the extremity and moving towards the centre of the body. SIPC provides best results when compression stockings or wraps are used post-therapy to maintain the oedema reduction.

Why hire a compression pump rather than buying?

Whilst most of our customers have great success with compression pumps, it doesn’t suit some individuals. Therefore, our option to rent before you buy is an excellent choice to get started*. You are also eligible to receive three months off the purchase price if you choose to go ahead and buy your device*. *Rental only available for standard sizing.

What do I do if I encounter problems with my equipment?

The pump is working incredibly, I saw my therapist recently and she said there has been a 17% reduction in my lymphoedema. I’m so happy that she suggested it.
Deb (After using the LX9 for only 3 weeks)
I used to have ankles like footballs and since using the LX9 pump daily this has completely gone. I’m no longer in pain.
Margaret Goodman
I’ve been walking around for forty years with this issue and now I can wear proper pants and feel better about myself.  The LX9 pump is marvelous and has made such a difference to me, my life and my health!
Valerie Young, Broken Hill
I’ve been using a compression pump for lymphoedema for nearly a month now. This includes some very hot days when swelling is always an issue. Very happy with the machine.
